I love the way you give context to the piece of music you are presenting by discussing it's history and by suggesting important or otherwise worthwhile recordings in the introduction of each lesson. And then to have it only a click away by getting it at your store is remarkable! None of my previous teachers couched the music in it's history the way you do. -Lenny

Hey Bill! Your site looks great. After going through the free lessons, I couldn't resist. I had to sign up. I watched your lesson on O Tannenbaum about a million times and played most of it for my family over the holidays. They were very impressed and everyone wanted to see your website. -James

Your videos are great, keep them up! Just joined your community yesterday and I'm very impressed with the lessons! They are full packed with useful information and there is no water in them! Outstanding! The more I watch your videos the more it's getting clear to me that JPO is the best jazz resource over Inet! Really Thank you! -Dimy

Again, I love the website and can’t wait to dive into all these great lessons. I wish my jazz piano teachers in the past had laid it out as simply and as user friendly as you. keep up the great work. -Michael

You have such a great way of presenting information, way better than any teacher (and I've been to a lot). -Neil

I have to tell you that your site is the best out there and there is a need for it especially in learning Jazz Piano. I can tell you that I am a professional musician who has a masters in teaching music. I am a keyboard player and I have been studying Jazz off and on for years and am still trying to put it all together. I learned bits and pieces from different people. I have the John Novello book which I found useful but to see the piano and have a pdf with assignments and also links to hear everything is great.

I think the way you break down the improvised line is the best way to learn how to build a solo. Creating melodic Target notes sound great by themselves and the rest is filling in the blanks. -Tom

As a guitarist of 35 plus years in a variety of styles (mostly in the Jazz vein) your lessons are just what I
needed to get started on piano. The theory I've taught myself beforehand from my guitar studies has been an added bonus to understanding your lessons at a faster
pace.

When I discovered the free lesson with the "5 Essential 7th chords" I immediately made that lesson a sort of warmup exercise that has also helped me get a quick grasp on the 5 most important chords to get started on Jazz piano. I had done something similar on guitar, but had never visualized it like you did to piano.

Your approach is totally wonderful especially since you tend to indroduce each new concept via Classic and Standard Jazz tunes. You just can't beat that style of learning!

Thanks for a truly wonderful website! I have learned tons in just a small amout of time. -Eddie

love your web site. I discovered your site a few days ago and signed up immediately. This is exactly what I have been looking for -- a way for someone with heavy classical training (as a child) who has for many years desperately wanted to learn jazz piano but could never figure out how to (short of taking expensive weekly private lessons). Always looking forward to seeing what new stuff is added. One of the great things about your website is the structure that it provides -- as I get too far afield, your structure brings me back down to earth. -Yoav

"First of all I want to thank you for putting together such a nice streamlined environment for learning Jazz piano." -Kenny

"The connection between what you are doing with your hands and the sounds that you get was very informative to me. In particular, I was struck by the variety of ways you used your left hand. Sometimes you played only one or two notes, sometimes you played a more or less full chord, sometimes you included the root, and other times you played a broken chord. One of the things that has always intrigued me is how good jazz pianists get such a variety of sounds on a tune. Watching your hands and listening to the corresponding sound was VERY enlightening for me." -Ken

"I look forward to improving my playing and my knowledge. I was looking at the Berklee on line 12 week sessions, but the $$$ was more than I wanted to do for something that is going to take some time to fit into my busy schedule. I think your info waiting for me is better than trying to jam 4 or 5 hours into a week that I don't really have time." -Randall
